Best thing about Longwood?
That I had the space to grow into a leader and who I was meant to be.
One professor who you couldn’t have done it without?
Dr. Ann Bailey Yoelin, program coordinator for therapeutic recreation, helped me discover an interest in helping people and inspired my desire to excel academically through her Civitae CTZN 110 class. I have to also mention Dr. Jonathan Page, assistant dean of multicultural affairs, who has mentored me through my journey of becoming a campus leader.
One unforgettable experience you had at Longwood?
Helping the BOND (Beginning Our New Direction) mentoring program for incoming historically underrepresented students get off the ground. Then watching the mentees grow into successful college students and even mentors themselves.
Longwood in three words?
Growing. Into. Myself.
I am ready for career success because…
I’ve learned how to deal with adversity and appreciate my worth, and I am able to advocate for myself.
