The N.H. Scott Center is a vibrant hub dedicated to fostering connection, community, and belonging across campus. Named in honor of Nancy H. “Cookie” Scott ’72—Longwood University’s first African-American graduate and a trailblazer whose legacy continues to inspire—the Center brings people together to learn from one another, build meaningful relationships, and celebrate the richness of our campus community.

Designed as a welcoming space for all students, the N.H. Scott Center encourages engagement across differences through opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning. The Center supports students in developing the skills, confidence, and curiosity needed to navigate diverse perspectives and experiences, empowering them to grow as compassionate citizen leaders.
