Welcoming, recognizing and supporting a diversity of backgrounds, identities and perspectives is central to Longwood’s mission.

We are called especially to this work by the important civil rights history that took place in our home community.
Students will find a range of resources, initiatives and organizations to support and celebrate our diversity.
- Two students lean over a box while sorting packaged food items. Both wear headscarves and smile as they work together. One holds several boxes of macaroni and cheese over an open cardboard box. Shelves and supplies in a warehouse setting fill the background.
- Two students sit close together at a decorated table, smiling warmly toward the camera. Soft lighting highlights their faces as they enjoy the event. One wears an off-the-shoulder rust sweater, and the other wears glasses and a sparkly-strap dress. Blurred flowers and table décor appear in the foreground.
- Three women stand together smiling, dressed in traditional embroidered garments. Two wear red and black patterns, and one wears a cream hijab with gold and black embroidery. They pose closely in a warmly lit indoor space. A blurred backdrop with dark blue and white text stands behind them.
A student wearing glasses and a gray hoodie sorts canned goods. They hold one can up while placing another into a blue bin. Shelves and boxes fill the background of the warehouse space. The student appears focused and engaged in the service activity.
A student wearing a light brown jacket and colorful sunglasses on her head concentrates while assembling a jigsaw puzzle spread across a wooden table.
- A group of students dances energetically outdoors in the sunlight. Two students in the front wear fraternity shirts and sunglasses as they step in sync. More students move behind them, joining the lively routine. Cars and campus buildings sit in the background under a clear blue sky.
