With dedicated Honors housing, lounges & study space there are daily opportunities to cultivate intellectual growth, nurture character and inspire leadership development.
The result—the enthusiastic discovery of individualized citizen leaders within a community of approximately 400 students.
Honors is so much more than academics; it's an incredibly supportive community. The faculty really want you to succeed and get students the best opportunities. I've been amazed by the kindness and dedication that faculty show to their students."

The majority of incoming CHC students elect to live in Wheeler Residence Hall—a historic and beautifully renovated hall, built in 1966—that is also home to a high-tech classroom, which brings honors classes and co-curricular activities right into the heart of our students’ everyday experience.
I made my best friends and my best memories living in Wheeler. Take a chance and apply to Honors―who knows where it will lead you.

Diagonally across and only steps away from Wheeler Hall is Stevens Hall, where both honors students and faculty teaching honors courses gather. There is a student lounge with a kitchenette, a thinker-maker-creator room, study carrels as well as faculty and administrative offices all located on the first floor of Stevens.
A “low intensity, high purpose” environment for you to connect and become familiar with staff, professors and campus through team-building and critical thinking exercises as well as community and campus service projects.
“By far, my favorite memory of Honors is the unique Leadership retreat, where first-year students are welcomed to Lancer Life. The very first day you find your Longwood family, and the relationships that are formed with peers and faculty are everlasting."
