Kathleen McCleskey, Ph.D., NCC, received her doctoral degree from the University of Virginia. She is an Associate Professor in the Counselor Education Program. Her clinical work has included mental health counseling, addiction counseling, prevention work, family counseling, emergency screening/crisis work, and clinical supervision. Group counseling has been a theme in much of her work. She values feminist and multicultural approaches in counseling, supervision, and pedagogy. Her current scholarship focuses on applications of feminist theory to counseling and counselor training, on death issues, and on sexuality. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association and the Virginia Counselors Association. She is a co-author and co-editor of the recently published book Feminist Intersectional Therapy: Fourth Wave Clinical Applications.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys knitting/crocheting, gardening, reading, cooking, and rural life.
